Registering for Czech TV & Radio Fees in 2025

Avoid a fine of up to 15,000 CZK by registering for mandatory Czech TV and Radio Fees — even if you don’t have to pay anything!

Starting May 1, 2025, new rules for TV and radio license fees apply to freelancers (OSVČ) and companies in the Czech Republic, including those who don’t own a traditional TV or radio.

This guide explains who needs to register, how to do it step by step, and how to avoid penalties — all in English, with official links included.

Who Must Register

You must register for Czech TV and radio fees if:

  • You own or use any device that receives TV or radio signals (including smartphones, laptops, etc.)

  • You rent out vehicles equipped with TV or radio receivers

  • You have 25 or more employees under your business

NOTE: Even if you have fewer than 25 employees, you still must register, but your fee will be automatically set to 0 CZK.
