Be Careful of Potential Scams: "Rejstrik Obchodu a Zivnosti" Letter
If you’ve recently registered your trade license in the Czech Republic, you may have received a letter from a company called Informatic s.r.o.. It’s important to be cautious, as this letter could be part of a scam targeting trade license holders. Here’s what you need to know:
The Letter’s Appearance:
The letter’s title includes the term “Rejstrik Zivnosti,” which makes it look official and gives the impression it’s from the Trade License Office, where you likely registered your business. It may create a sense of trust, especially since it contains your business details.
What the Letter Claims:
The letter claims that Informatic s.r.o. is registering you in their Trade License Holder's registration system and that you owe a fee of 1785 CZK for this registration. It even includes a payment slip with all the details for you to make the payment.
However, the registration office mentioned in the letter does not exist in any official public register of Czech authorities. The registration they are referring to is not a legitimate service. If you have already paid this fee or are considering doing so, you could be facing serious issues.
What the Letter Doesn’t Tell You:
The letter also mentions that by paying the fee, you are entering into a partnership agreement, which will result in automatic yearly charges for non-existent services. And, they will continue to send you invoices each year for services that do not exist.
Our Recommendation:
IGNORE THIS LETTER! All legitimate registration fees have already been paid to the government authorities during your trade license registration. You are already registered in the official public Business Register. There is no need to pay anything more to Informatic s.r.o. or any similar company.
