Foreign Police Registration in the Czech Republic
Foreign Police registration is the mandatory process of registering in the Foreign Police database as a foreigner in the Czech Republic.
As an EU citizen, you must register within 30 days of arrival, while non-EU citizens are required to register within 3 days. This process ensures your legal residency status in the country.
Good To Know
EU Citizens
As an EU citizen, you must register with the Foreign Police within 30 days of arriving in the Czech Republic. However, this registration isn’t proof of residency. If you leave the country and return, you’ll need to register again.
Foreign Police registration doesn’t let you open a bank account, register a car, or get a parking permit. For these things, you’ll need a temporary residence registration certificate of an EU citizen.
NON-EU citizens
As a non-EU citizen, you must complete Foreign Police registration within 3 workdays of arrival in the Czech Republic.
To register with the Foreign Police, you’ll need to provide:
A valid Czech visa
Health insurance
A completed registration form
A valid passport
A 50 CZK fee
