Czech Foreign Police registration

When you enter the Czech Republic, you are obliged to register with the Foreign Police in the Czech Republic.

Citizens from “third countries” need to register with the Foreign Police within 3 working days upon their arrival to the country.

We can help and accompany you to the Foreign Police. Our complete service fee for Foreign Police registration is 1 400 CZK.

If you are staying at a registered hotel, registering you with the Foreign Police is the responsibility of the hotel according to Czech immigration law

EU citizens

If you are an EU citizen and decide to stay for more than 30 days, then you should register with the Czech Foreign Police within the 30 day period. Otherwise, you risk being fined by the police.

The Foreign Police registration is not proof of residency and will not give you the same privileges as having temporary residence status!

PraguExpats recommends that EU citizens obtain a temporary residence for EU citizens in the Czech Republic!
